Congratulations! You are on your way. These days, a business' credibility is enhanced by the presence of a website. Here are a few starter tips for you...
Keep Your Eye Open
When a potential client contacts me, I always ask them to keep an eye open for designs that are interesting to them. Bringing something to the table for us designers is very helpful in crafting something that you really like and that meets your needs. Sure, we can work from nothing too. I am always happy to go on instinct, which generally leads me in the right direction, if need be. But doing your homework helps us a lot and can save you money too.
Make notes of websites, print out pages, bring copies of printed work that you like, whether it is the font, color, layout, elements, or something else that catches your eye. All these things are good to bring to the table when we meet!
Explore Sites of Your Competition
What works? What doesn't?
Knowing your competition is a big one. What makes you unique from what they are offering?
Text Content
Copy (or text content) is another very important element. What do you want to say about yourself? About what you are doing? If you aren't skilled in the word world, I am happy to set you up with a copy writer and they will make wonder with words that fit like you didn't know was possible!
E-Commerce (or Online Retail)
Will you be needing a shopping cart system for selling retail online?
Hope these tips are helpful in getting you started! Happy webbing!
